Youth & Family Gleaning Service Day
Join us for our first service day of the school year! It's a federal holiday so we're hoping families are able to attend as well.
Gleaning is an Old Testament practice where farmers leave portions of their fields unharvested for the less fortunate folks in their communities and we're continuing this tradition with harvesting apples for the Haymarket Food Pantry! We'll be carpooling together from Gainesville Church out to Marker-Miller Orchards (Winchester, VA) to harvest apples and will be returning early that afternoon. All youth and their families/friends are invited!
We recommend wearing layers because the weather can be hard to predict, but we definitely ask that everyone bring work/gardening gloves and a bagged lunch. We'll be eating there at the orchard before heading back to Gainesville.
Time: 8 am to 1 pm
Place: Meet at Gainesville Church—we will carpool out to Marker-Miller Orchards (Winchester)
Please register for the event.
