Welcome to Gainesville United Methodist Church!
GUMC is a loving, welcoming and diverse congregation of people who desire to be the hands and feet of Christ in our world.
All are welcome here - we hope that you will join us and we look forward to getting to know you!
We offer three Sunday morning worship services - 8:00am, 9:30am and 11:00am. Sunday School is offered at 9:30 and 11 - check our out Worship page for more details on what each service has to offer.
We also offer a Wednesday evening service featuring contemplative praise music, a time of prayers, a short message and weekly communion. The service is at 7pm, each Wednesday, in the sanctuary. Come just as you are and worship with us!
Registration for our spring semester of Financial Peace is now open and available! This wonderful financial course from Dave Ramsey is highly recommended for people and couples of all ages and stations of life. It will meet on Sunday evenings at 6pm from January 15 through March 12. For more information and to register, please visit the course page on the Financial Peace website by clicking here.
January Blood Drive
Did you know that 36,000 units of blood are needed across the country each day? Or that on average, every two seconds a patient in the U.S. needs blood? The good news is that YOU can help! Every two months, we host a blood drive at GUMC, and have done so since our building opened in 2006. Our first drive of 2017 is on Saturday, Jan. 28th from 8am - 1:30pm. The Red Cross is in desperate need of blood donations this time of the year, and we hope that you will join us as we help countless patients across the area. Appointments are strongly encouraged - to make an appointment, click here or visit The Red Cross website and type in Gainesville United Methodist Church. Please sign up today!
Chat & Chew with Bishop Lewis
The new bishop of the Virginia Annual Conference, Bishop Sharma Lewis, will be visiting our district on Saturday, January 28th. She has invited lay members from the district churches to join her for an afternoon of lunch and conversation as she seeks to get to know the people of the Conference and to listen to what you have to say regarding the future of our conference. The event will be hosted at Grace UMC in Manassas, from 11:30am-4pm. If you'd like to attend, the cost is $10, and the link to sign up is here. We hope that you can join us!
